Virginia Benini

Born in Riva del Garda in 2001, she began studying piano at the age of eight under the guidance of Professor Enrico Toccoli. She later joined the class of Professor Maria Grazia Petrali at the “F. A. Bonporti” Conservatory in Trento.

She has participated in numerous national and international competitions, consistently placing among the top ranks. These include the Steinway Competition, “Città di Oleggio,” “Premio Crescendo,” “Premio Brunelli,” “Città di Scandicci,” “Remo Vinciguerra,” “Riviera della Versilia,” “Città di Venezia,” “Giubitosi,” “Laszlò Spezzaferri,” “Città di Treviso,” “Antonio Salieri,” “Città di Moncalieri,” “Città di S. Donà di Piave,” and “Città di Riccione.”

Since 2015, she has been a student of Professor Massimiliano Mainolfi. She has taken part in masterclasses held by numerous internationally renowned pianists, including Benedetto Lupo, Dmitry Alexeev, Pavel Gililov, Bruno Canino, Oxana Yablonskaya, Rena Shereshevskaya, Alexander Kobrin, Wolfgang Manz, Lovro Pogorelich, Andreas Frölich, Alexander Meinel, Mats Widlung, Enrica Ciccarelli, Andrea Turini, Valery Pyasetsky, Pavel Nersessian, Natalia Bogdanova, and Laura Pietrocini.

She has performed in Italy, Germany, France, Russia, the United States, and Sweden.
She has given recitals at the headquarters of the Red Army in Moscow during the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, for the Società dei Concerti in Milan, at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, at the Sala Laudamo of the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina, for the Philharmonic Societies of Rovereto and Trento, for the Monferrato Classic Festival, and at the national conference of A.I.A.R.P., among others.

She attended the annual advanced training course at the Santa Cecilia Music Foundation in Portogruaro with pianist Alessandro Taverna. She is an active student of Maestro Konstantin Bogino at the International Academy of Music in Rome and the Perosi Academy in Biella.

In 2020, she graduated from the “Marco Polo” High School in Venice, and in 2021 she took part in an Erasmus semester at the “F. Liszt” Hochschule in Weimar with Professor Christian Wilm Müller. She earned her first-level academic degree with top marks and honors from the “F. A. Bonporti” Conservatory in Trento.

As a chamber musician, she has performed in various ensembles and attended masterclasses with Bruno Canino, Pavel Berman, Enrico Dindo, Simone Gramaglia, Alexey Stadler, Antonio Valentino, Eckart Runge, Corrado Ruzza, and Oliver Wille.
She forms a stable duo with violist Vittorio Benaglia, with whom she has performed at the Philharmonic Society of Trento, at Palazzo Spinola in Genoa for the GOG, for the Mediterranean Philharmonic Academy in Trani, in Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza, at Sala Musa in Como, at the Corale Verdi headquarters in Parma, at the Palazzo della Cultura in Messina, and at “Il Circolo” in Messina.

She was selected as an Artist-in-Residence at the Watermill Center in New York, founded by Robert Wilson, where she performed during the prestigious Benefit Gala, an event attended by Isabella Rossellini and Francis Kéré, among others.

She completed her Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano with top marks and honors, under the guidance of Maestro Federico Colli, with whom she is currently continuing her advanced studies.
