Virginia Benini

Born in Riva del Garda in 2001, she began studying piano at the age of eight under the guidance of Prof. Enrico Toccoli. She later joined the class of Prof. Maria Grazia Petrali at the “F. A. Bonporti” Conservatory in Trento.

She has participated in several national and international competitions, consistently ranking among the top positions. These include the Steinway Competition, “Città di Oleggio,” “Premio Crescendo,” “Premio Brunelli,” “Città di Scandicci,” “Remo Vinciguerra,” “Riviera della Versilia,” “Città di Venezia,” “Giubitosi,” “Laszlò Spezzaferri,” “Città di Treviso,” “Antonio Salieri,” “Città di Moncalieri,” “Città di S. Donà di Piave,” and “Città di Riccione.”

Since 2015, she has been part of Prof. Massimiliano Mainolfi’s class. She has attended masterclasses with several internationally renowned pianists, including Benedetto Lupo, Dmitry Alexeev, Pavel Gililov, Bruno Canino, Oxana Yablonskaya, Rena Shereshevskaya, Alexander Kobrin, Wolfgang Manz, Lovro Pogorelich, Andreas Frölich, Alexander Meinel, Mats Widlung, Enrica Ciccarelli, Andrea Turini, Valery Pyasetsky, Pavel Nersessian, Natalia Bogdanova, and Laura Pietrocini.

She has performed in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Greece, Sweden, Russia and in the United States.

She has given recitals at the Red Army Headquarters in Moscow on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, for the Società dei Concerti in Milan, at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, at the Watermill Center in New York, at Sala Laudamo of Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina, at the Philharmonic Societies of Rovereto and Trento, for Piano City Milan, for Piano City Lecce, for the Monferrato Classic Festival, and at the national conference of A.I.A.R.P., among others.

She attended the annual advanced course at the Fondazione Musicale S. Cecilia in Portogruaro with pianist Alessandro Taverna. She is a full student of M° Konstantin Bogino at the Accademia Internazionale di Musica in Rome and at the Accademia Perosi in Biella.

In 2020, she graduated from the Liceo “Marco Polo” in Venice, and in 2021 she completed an Erasmus semester at the Hochschule “F. Liszt” in Weimar with Prof. Christian Wilm Müller. She earned her first-level academic degree with top marks and honors at the “F.A. Bonporti” Conservatory in Trento.

As a chamber musician, she has performed in various ensembles and attended masterclasses with Bruno Canino, Pavel Berman, Enrico Dindo, Simone Gramaglia, Alexey Stadler, Antonio Valentino, Eckart Runge, Corrado Ruzza, and Oliver Wille. She forms a stable duo with violist Vittorio Benaglia, performing at the Società Filarmonica of Trento, Palazzo Spinola in Genoa for GOG, for the Accademia Filarmonica del Mediterraneo in Trani, in Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza, at Sala Musa in Como, at the Corale Verdi in Parma, at Palazzo della Cultura in Messina, and at “Il Circolo” in Messina.

In July 2025, she was selected as Artist-in-Residence at the Watermill Center in New York, founded by Robert Wilson, where she performed at the prestigious Benefit Gala, sponsored by Van Cleef & Arpels, attended by Isabella Rossellini and Francis Kéré.

She completed the Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano with top marks and honors, under the guidance of M° Federico Colli, with whom she is currently continuing her advanced studies.
